Dementia is a multidisciplinary area, transcending disciplines of science, sociology, economics and policy, impacng people and society at each of these levels. The last few decades have witnessed huge efforts in all these disciplines to develop an understanding and provide solutions for this very disabling disease. While many advances have indeed been made, several challenges remain that require stake-holders to reflect and create meaningful strategies to bring hope and relief to Persons with Dementia and their families. This is reflected in the theme of this Symposium – Research, Implement and Improve.
The Symposium will enable various stakeholders to share their observations, problems faced, suggestions and conclusions. It shall also provide an effective platform for discussion and exchange of ideas. The aim is to include diverse viewpoints and experiences from both international and national speakers so as to get new insights into the present situations and possibilities of interventions, and discuss useful directions for future work and possible effective ways of implementing strategies to reduce the burden of dementia care in India.
We hope that participants will go back with a deeper understanding of the challenges they need to focus on and find solutions for, and also with ideas for more effective care delivery models. Please join us for the Dementia 2018.
